Chief Executive Officer – Sterling and Wilson Data Center Pvt. Ltd. | Strategic Leader in Data Center Infrastructure and Long-Term Growth

Prasanna Sarambale, CEO of Sterling and Wilson Data Center Pvt. Ltd. (SWDC), is a seasoned leader in the international data center industry. With over 28 years of experience, Prasanna has played a key role in shaping SWDC into a trusted provider of end-to-end data center EPC solutions. His strategic leadership has enabled the company to deliver value to hyperscalers, colocation providers, BFSI institutions, and government organizations.

 

Prasanna’s career includes leadership roles at globally recognized organizations such as Tata Liebert, IBM, Emerson Network Power and Schnieder Electric. Since joining the Sterling and Wilson Group in 2008, he has been instrumental in establishing and scaling the Data Center division. Over time, he guided its transition into an independent and globally respected entity, supported by strategic investments and robust partnerships.

 

As the former Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Region Data Center Forum, Prasanna championed initiatives to elevate industry standards for infrastructure, energy efficiency, and digital transformation. He actively engaged with policymakers and industry stakeholders to foster collaboration and create a sustainable and innovative ecosystem for data centers in India.

 

Prasanna’s leadership style is grounded in collaboration and mentorship. He has cultivated a culture of accountability and ownership within his teams, empowering them to deliver high-performing results. His ability to anticipate market trends and align strategies with client needs has driven operational excellence and sustainable growth for SWDC, ensuring its continued relevance in a dynamic industry.

  • Defect Liability Period (DLP) [12 months] – bank guarantee, incident management, and transition to O&M.

  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M) [36-60 months] – Resource allocation, structured L1-L3 incident management, and long-term infrastructure optimization.
  • Contract Award – LoA issuance, detailed contract signing, branch/subsidiary formation, BG submission, and insurance processing.

  • Detailed Design & Engineering – Design validation, detailed engineering, software-based modeling, client approvals, regulatory compliance, value engineering & product optimization.

  • Procurement – Vendor evaluation, technical compliance checks, competitive global sourcing, vendor selection via reverse auction, and commercial negotiations.

  • Construction (Site Infra Build) – Civil work, substructure, superstructure, facades, fenestrations, and interiors.

  • MEP Implementation – Electrical, HVAC, ELV, fire fighting, plumbing, structured cabling.

  • Testing & Commissioning – Third-party agency appointment, script development, sequence of operation (SOO), L1-L5 testing, ISAT, and RFS (Ready for Service).
  • Marketing Activities [3 months] – Market identification, customer segmentation, enquiry sourcing, networking & events, referrals, and media outreach.

  • Pre-Bidding [1 month] – Client due diligence, commercial & financial terms, technical scope identification, risk analysis, migration strategy, PQ activities (client registration), go/no-go decision.

  • Bidding [1-2 months] – Contract evaluation, technical & execution strategy, value engineering, sourcing plans, project planning, pricing & bid proposal preparation.

  • Contract Negotiation [2 months] – Finalizing technical, commercial, and execution terms, contract duration, and client expectations.
